In addition to world-class tennis, here are some additional fun things to take advantage of while here:
Go to the beach! A great way to relax and unwind, this is a main reason why visitors come to Hilton Head Island. Sunbathe, play in the gentle waves, skimboard, build sandcastles, walk along the seashore…all are available on the Island’s pristine, 12-mile long beach. Both public and private access points are available.
Harbour Town in The Sea Pines Resort – iconic, Harbor Town marina basin; world-famous as the backdrop of the Heritage Classic PGA TOUR golf tournament; quintessential Hilton Head Island; boutique shopping and dining available; entertain kids at night during the summer with free concerts by Gregg Russell, a long-standing Island tradition.
Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn – renovated plantation house serves as a wonderful museum of cultural and natural history of Hilton Head Island; eco- and historic walking tours offered; environmental classes for kids; art displays - currently, Gullah sweet grass basket displaying artifacts dating back to the early 1900s.
Shelter Cove Harbour – a wonderful place to shop, to enjoy quality dining, and to simply stroll and gaze at the beautiful boats; in addition, dolphin tours, crabbing trips, sailing excursions and kayaking are also available out of Shelter Cove Harbour.
Bike along our 80 miles of pathways or on the beach; bring your bike when you travel to Hilton Head Island by car, and enjoy this invigorating way to get around the entire Island; the beaches have hard-packed sand which make them perfect for cruising; if you don’t bring your own bike, there are numerous bike rental companies waiting to assist.
Coligny Beach Park – free beach park access; brand new fountains, pathways and sitting areas – the Town of Hilton Head Island recently built an outdoor water fountain perfect for children to run through and get wet; great for strolling, relaxing, eating an ice cream cone; WiFi available; also the beach park is adjacent to Coligny Plaza, famed for its touristy- beach shops, casual dining establishments and evening entertainment at the Big Bamboo
Play 18 holes of golf - Hilton head Island's other main pastime, golf, is abundant on Hilton Head Island. There are 20 public championship courses to choose from, all with varied terrain, including dramatic views of oceans, marshes and lush lowcountry landscaping, such as live oak trees draping with Spanish Moss.
Eat out - There are more than 250 restaurants on the Island to choose from. Many offer locally caught seafood and other local organically grown ingredients.
